The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of Probiotic-Bacillus subtilis HU58 on immune function in healthy individuals and assess its safety and tolerability. An open-labeled trial was conducted with 18 apparently healthy subjects who received Probiotic-Bacillus subtilis HU58 capsules orally once a day for 8 weeks. Blood biochemical and organ function tests were conducted at baseline, the fourth week, and the eighth week. The results showed a significant reduction in proinflammatory cytokines (IL-6 and TNF-α) by around 45% and 55%, respectively, at the end of the 8th week. The probiotic was well-tolerated and safe, with no serious adverse events reported. However, further evaluation in a larger sample size and with disease-specific indications is required to determine its full therapeutic efficacy.
